Introducing our Safeguarding Skills Scan tool
Our new Safeguarding Skills Scan tool assesses your staff with 12 questions randomly drawn from a safeguarding question bank, taken from our online safeguarding courses. The tool has been developed in line with the latest DfE safeguarding guidelines and allows the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to:
- Assess staff’s safeguarding knowledge, confidence and skill gaps.
- Provide targeted training and support.
- Demonstrate your commitment to safeguarding for Ofsted and stakeholders.

How Safeguarding Skills Scan works
Our Safeguarding Skills Scan tool is easy to administer and can be done so following these simple steps:
- Activate the Safeguarding Skills Scan feature in your LMS account.
- Assign staff and choose a date, or let the system auto-select.
- Staff will receive an email on the chosen date to take the assessment and rate their confidence.
- Post-assessment, admins receive a detailed report outlining individual results, confidence levels and potential safeguarding knowledge gaps. Participants can view their results.
