In this module, we will clarify the positions in food handling environments most suitable for Level 1  food hygiene training and the necessity of undergoing food safety training. We will also provide an overview of the content you will explore throughout the course, illustrated through real-life examples.
2. Personal Hygiene and Workwear
In this module, we will explore the role personal hygiene plays in preventing food poisoning, emphasising the effectiveness of simple measures like maintaining cleanliness standards. You will receive tips on maintaining hygiene, learn about the optimal methods for hand washing and understand the significance of proper workwear when handling food.
3. Food Poisoning Prevention
In this module, we look at the basic aspects of food safety, focusing on the prevention of food poisoning. You will understand its common causes, including the concept of cross-contamination and how to avoid it. We will classify and explore the four primary risk groups, so you can identify potential hazards and prevent food-related illnesses before they occur.
4. Cleaning and Disinfection
This module teaches you the right ways to clean and sanitise places where food is kept and made. You’ll learn how to use cleaning products correctly to keep food areas safe. We will also cover the benefits of having a cleaning schedule and using a step-by-step cleaning process.
5. Personal Hygiene
Keeping your hands clean and your clothes uncontaminated can really help avoid hygiene issues. In this module, we’ll learn the methods to maintain personal hygiene. We’ll also talk about using protective clothing and following hygiene rules.
6. The Law and HACCP
In this module, we will introduce the essentials of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system, learning to define and effectively implement it. We will also look at the duties of Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) and provide an understanding of the legal stipulations relevant to your role.

This is your proof that you have been trained in food hygiene best practices and achieved compliance. The certificates include a verification number so anybody can authenticate the certificate’s legitimacy.

Our certifications include a renewal date but there is no legal requirement to renew your training and certificate within a specific timeframe. However, we do recommend that you arrange refresher training after 2 years as food hygiene and safety guidance does change. You should update your food hygiene and safety knowledge and skills regularly.
